Here you can find the changelog of TwistedWave since it was posted on our website on 2015-04-28.

New:
- The macOS Sonoma update is officially supported by TwistedWave,
- It is now possible to configure the sample rate batch action to only convert the sample rate up or down.
Scrubbing:
- You can now scrub by holding the ctrl button while click and dragging with the mouse, or dragging with the right mouse button,
- The cursor will not wiggle anymore when scrubbing in repeat mode,
- In repeat mode, a smaller portion will be repeated for better accuracy.
Cursor:
- The cursor is now dark green by default, for better visibility,
- It can now have a different color inside a selection, also for better visibility,
- It is thinner on non-retina displays, and can be made even thinner on retina displays,
- The above can be changed in "Edit > Edit Colors" if you don't like the new defaults,
- The mouse cursor is now the I-beam instead of an arrow for better pointing accuracy.
Speech Recognition:
- Added speech recognition based on OpenAI's Whisper speech recognition engine,
- Supports many more languages than Apple's built-in speech recognition,
- Can be configured to be either much faster or much more accurate than Apple's speech recognition.
Video Synchronization:
- The video rotation would not always be preserved after editing,
- Many more video types can now be edited without re-encoding the whole file,
- Some h264/h265 video files could not be saved.
Fixes:
- The export text script and export waveform image batch actions were broken,
- TwistedWave was unresponsive for a fraction of a second when switching from another application,
- TwistedWave would stutter a bit when starting playback or moving the cursor when there were many markers or speech markers in the file,
- Some .WAV files could crash TwistedWave.

- Improved the marker renaming tool,
- The analyze action in the batch processor will now generate the total samples, duration and sample rate of the analyzed file,
- It is now possible to enable / disable play through while recording,
- Some improvements to help with glitches.
Fixed:
- Running TwistedWave with Rosetta was broken,
- The FabFilter Pro-L 2 VST3 plugin didn't work, and the VST2 version only processed the left channel,
- A problem exporting mp3 files if one channel was shorter than the other,
- A crash when quitting TwistedWave with AudioUnit effects applied globally,
- An error message when opening the "Edit" menu if no TwistedWave window is open and the default shortcut for the "Delete" item was changed.

Fixed:
- It is now possible to name markers ending with a #,
- The glitch detector was broken.
VST Fixes:
- When refreshing the VST effect list, the uninstalled effects will be removed, and the effects installed since launch will be detected,
- Fixed a UI glitch with some VST effects,
- Fixed a crash when closing an effect stack containing VST effects,
- The main menu should be more responsive when many AudioUnit and VST effects are installed.
Speech Recognition Fixes:
- The speech recognition while we are recording would not work if the option to auto mark recordings is enabled,
- Fixed a problem where the speech recognition would never stop on macOS 10.15,
- All the speech markers were duplicated when moving a marker,
- The speech markers would not be placed correctly when doing a punch-in recording,
- Fixed a crash performing speech recognition while recording.

Fixes:
- Selecting "File > Print" on an audio file from the Finder would crash TwistedWave,
- Fixed a crash when analyzing an empty file,
- The format settings button was not always updated correctly when editing the format (macOS Ventura only),
- Some 32-bit float files could display 16-bit in the status bar.

Fixed
- Saving video files with the h264 codec could sometimes result in unplayable files,
- Fixed a crash when the option to recognize speech when recording was selected,
- Fixed a crash when using a marker name with too many digits, such as a phone number,
- The progress bar wouldn't show any progress when loading a file,
- Reverting to the default color scheme was broken in dark mode,
- The analyze window was too small on M1 Mac computers, and it had to be scrolled to display all the lines,
- TwistedWave could stop playing if we started playing before the file was fully loaded,
- The option to show only 5 seconds when opening a new file was broken.

New Features
- When loading multiple files, they can be opened in tabs,
- When dropping multiple files, TwistedWave asks what to do with them (load in windows, load in tabs, merge channels, append the files, append with markers),
- When selecting, the video will follow the cursor,
- Pasting multiple times from the clip list now duplicates the pasted audio like the global paste does,
- Added "Mark Transients" to the batch processor,
- It is now possible to open Ogg Video (.ogv), .dsd and .dff files.
Fixed
- TwistedWave could run out of memory when exporting some videos,
- Some files, especially compressed AAC files, would open truncated, or padded with silence,
- Some AudioUnit plugins would not render audio correctly with mono audio,
- TwistedWave could freeze for a fraction of a second when switching between applications,
- It wasn't possible to configure Cmd-Space as a custom keyboard shortcut.

- Reduced the occurrence of glitches at the beginning of recordings,
- Adjusting AudioUnit presets in the batch processor was broken,
- TwistedWave can now read metadata from RF64 files,
- Fixed a crash when moving TwistedWave from a retina display to a non-retina display,
- The slider for the trim effect now goes down to -100 dB.
- The vertical zoom with Command-Wheel was broken with non-magic mice.

- Added a noise reduction effect,
- Automatically detect glitches caused by missed buffers when recording,
- Show an error instead of falling back to the built-in microphone when the selected audio interface is not available for recording,
- Added an Analyze action to the batch processor,
- You can now opt to automatically get beta versions of TwistedWave through the automatic update system,
- When a punch-in recording is initiated while the selection is active, the contents of the selection will be replaced, and the recorder will stop when it reaches the end of the selection.
- Added the "Open Recent Document" item in the "File" menu to re-open the last viewed file,
- Added an option to format the times like H:M:S in the toolbar, to show the number of hours,
- Added a button to clear the metadata,
- The toolbar can be customized with a big version of the cursor position,
- Added an option to close all the document windows at once,
- The lambda and quality parameters were swapped and didn't work as expected in the "Change Pitch and Speed" effect in the batch processor,
- When saving a file while recording, the document wouldn't be marked as dirty, and you would not be offered to save it again after the recorder was stopped.
Changes:
- Dropped the "1." from the version number. Versions with three digits, like 24.0.1 will be beta versions,
- When moving the cursor to the beginning or end of the file, the selection is now discarded.
Fixes:
- Saving color schemes was broken,
- Video files shouldn't open with TwistedWave by default,
- TwistedWave would crash when asked to generate a tone with a negative frequency.

- The ID3 metadata in some WAV or AIFF files could be ignored by TwistedWave,
